"Vincent, Vincent look at me."
Don put his hands on my head and forced me to look him in the eye.
"You have gone two weeks without it. You can do this," he said.
"No," I growled. " No, I can't. I need it! I need to drink!"
I shook my hean and gritted my teeth.
"Come on. I don't want to have to kill you because of it."
He forced me to look at him again. His eyes were wide and sweat came down his face. I growled at him and bore my teeth. I could feel my fangs coming out. He slapped me in the face.
"Don't let it control you. Vincent, I'll give you a little, it should hold you off for a day or two." He said.
"Why?" I asked. "You don't have to. Argh!" My head started to throb and my throat became dry.
"Just do it. This way you won't crave it anymore."
He rolled up his sleeve and held out his arm. I wanted so bad to bite into him.
"Gah, NO! I can't."
"If you don't there's no telling what will happen," He said.
He trust his arm at me and witout a second thought I drew my fangs and bit into him. He cried out in pain. I only drank a small amout. So bad was my thirst that I had to slam my head into the wall to stop myself.
"Go! just leave me!" I yelled.
He stood and left the room. I sat in the farthest corner keeping away from the windows and the door. It took a while but slowly my thirst faded and I felt human again. Something that every night seems to slip away through my fingers.

"Here young child. Take this. It will keep the sun from hurting as it does," the old medicine man said.
He handed the child a bone charm. It was of a horses' tooth with the native laguage carved on it. The child took it with wide eyes and curious hands. He old man slipped the leather thong attatched to the bone over the child's head.
"Don't take it off when the sun is in the sky."
"Yes sir, thank you!"
The child ran out of the tent into the warm desert sun and looked up to the sky glad to be where he so longed to venture. Other children in the village gathered around him cheering and jumping for joy. They had never seen him out in the sun before without being covered by a blanket or long cloak. The medicine man walked out of the tent and turned his ears towards the children. Their laughter made him smile. One more soul he helped fit into the world. That was two children he helped in the past week. One from the Lakota tribes and this one from the white man's settlement.
One child born demon and another possesed by a demon. He thought to himself that maybe one day these two children would meet in strange circumstances. As the white man would call them, a skinwalker and a vampire. Though he was blind the medicine man could still see more in a person than anyone else, and wether or not those children would be normal again or not he would always be there to watch them.
